2017 LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) Scholarships in USA
Applications are invited for
the 2017 LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) Scholarships in USA. The LAGRANT Foundation
(TLF) will award up to 40 scholarships for pursuing Undergraduate and Graduate
programmes in 2017. U.S. citizen or permanent resident are eligible to
apply for these fellowships. Students must be attending four-year
accredited institutions in the U.S. and majoring in the fields of advertising,
marketing or public relations to qualify for these scholarships
DESCRIPTION: The LAGRANT Foundation is a
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase the number of
ethnic minorities in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations
by providing scholarships, career & professional development workshops,
mentors and internships to African American/Black, Alaska Native/Native
American, Asian American/Pacific Islander and Hispanic/Latino Undergraduate and
Graduate students. TLF accepts applications from Undergraduate students
(current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors only) and Graduate
students
ELIGIBILITY: The
following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be considered eligible
for these scholarships:
Undergraduate
Scholarships:
Ø
Must be a U.S.
citizen or permanent resident
Ø
Must be a member
of one of the following ethnic groups: African-American/Black, Asian
American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native
Ø
Must be a
full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution within the U.S.,
carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter
Ø
Must have a
minimum of 3.0 GPA (if you do not meet this requirement, please see the application
checklist below)
Ø
Must major in a
field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public
relations
Ø
Must have at least
one year to complete his/her degree from the time the scholarships are awarded
in May 2017
Ø
Recipients MUST be
available to participate in the scholarship activities from May 21-23,
2017. If chosen, the applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities as
noted at top of page of the website to receive professional guidance and
academic support
Ø
If chosen, the
applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities to receive the scholarship.
The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to
receive professional guidance and academic support
Graduate Scholarships:
Ø
Must be a U.S.
citizen or permanent resident
Ø
Must be a member

a Minimum of Two Academic Semesters Or One-Year left to complete
his/her Master’s degree from the time the scholarship is awarded in May 2017
Ø
If chosen, the
applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities to receive the scholarship.
The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to
receive professional guidance and academic support.
Note: U.S. citizen or permanent
resident are eligible to apply for these fellowships
VALUE: The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) will award 40
scholarships in 2017. Of the 40, 20 ethnically diverse minority undergraduate
students will receive scholarships of $2,500 each and 20 graduate students will
receive scholarships of $5,000 each

essay outlining your career goals and what steps you will take to increase the
lack of ethnic representation in the fields of advertising, marketing and
public relations. In addition, you must define the role of an advertising, marketing
or public relations practitioner (as it relates to your career goals). You can
include accomplishments relevant to increasing awareness about diversity in
your community
ü A brief paragraph explaining college and/or community
activities in which you are involved
ü A brief paragraph describing any honours and awards
that you have received
ü Optional: If you do not think your GPA accurately
reflects your scholastic capability and achievement, then draft an essay no
longer than one-page explaining the discrepancy
ü
An acceptance
letter from your college/university may be used as a substitute for unofficial
transcripts if you are an incoming freshman for the fall
